Documents Required:
1) Change in Address:
  • Your Original National Identity Card (CNIC)
  • Original CNIC of your Blood-Relative or Wife or Husband, with same address
    OR… Original Utility Bill on your Name & Permanent Address
2) Change in Date of Birth:
  • Your Original National Identity Card (CNIC)
  • Child Registration Certificate (Form-B)
  • Your Matric Certificate or Matric Marks-Sheet or Medical Certificate or Passport

Please Note:

  • Date of Birth cannot be changed if age is 45 and above
  • You can change your Date of Birth only ONE time
  • If you have unnatural age with real brothers & sisters, you can change your Date of Birth upto one year (365 days)
  • For Date of Birth, no document is required for change in Day and Month
3) Change in Marital Status:
  • Your Original National Identity Card (CNIC)
  • In case of your marriage, Nikahnama or Marriage Certificate or Affidavit or Husband’s CNIC
    (If Nikahnama or Marriage Certificate is not available then bring wife or husband with you)
    (If wife or husband is not available then bring with you any one from in-laws / parents with CNIC)
    OR
  • If divorced, Certificate of Arbitrary Council or Affidavit
    OR
  • If Husband died, Death Certificate of Husband/ Affidavit
4) Change in the Name:
  • Your Original National Identity Card (NIC)
  • Child Registration Certificate (Form-B)
  • Matric Certificate or Matric Marks-Sheet or Medical Certificate or Passport
  • Affidavit attested by Oath Commissioner / Certificate from Daarul-Afta (due to religion change only)

Please Note:

  • Bring with you at NADRA office any blood-relative as father/mother/brother/sister/son/daughter, with their CNIC
  • Operator will enter your data and give you its Print
  • The blood-relative will attest your above Form/ Print
  • Male applicant can change his name only ONE time
  • Female applicant can change her name many times (due to change from father to husband name)
5) Change in Gender (Male/Female):
  • Depends upon desire or appearance of Applicant
6) Change in Religion:
  • Your Original National Identity Card (CNIC)
  • Affidavit/Certificate from Darul-Afta (converted to Islam)
    OR
  • System Generated Undertaking or witness of same religion (from Islam to other religion)
7) Change in Parent’s Name / Information:
  • Your Original National Identity Card (CNIC)
  • Child Registration Certificate (Form-B)
  • Matric Certificate or Matric Marks-Sheet or Medical Certificate or Passport
  • Original CNIC of parent. Also bring the parent with you at NADRA office with their CNIC

Please Note:

  • You can correct the names of parents (alive or not alive)
8) Change in your Signature on your CNIC:
  • Your Original National Identity Card (CNIC)
  • Two photocopies of CNIC
Steps:
  1. Pay the Fee and get Token Number from counter
  2. Staff will take your fresh photograph
  3. Officer will take your fresh fingerprints & signature
  4. You will surrender / submit your original CNIC
  5. NADRA sends SMS on your mobile that CNIC is ready
  6. Receive your CNIC personally from NADRA Office on date
Tips:
  • For fingerprints, avoid mehendi / dust / oil on your fingers
  • Keep with you enough change of money
  • Keep with you a pen

      W.Salam … Through NADRA’s following online service (Pak-Identity website), the permanent or present address can be changed:-

      https://id.nadra.gov.pk/e-id/authenticate.PAK

      However, if you are in the country, you and your husband can also visit nearest NADRA Centre for this purpose, with your original ID Cards. After change of address you will get a fresh CNIC within 30 days. Normal fee is Rs.400 for a CNIC.

    1. Dear Mr.Asad,

      Within country, it is possible that you will not face any problem about name difference between your certificates and the CNIC. But if you travel abroad in future for a job etc., there is a possibility of facing some difficulties.

      After change of your name on your CNIC, it is good if you can change the name also on your Matric and Intermediate Certificates. For this purpose, you will have to contact the Boards of Matric and Inter.

      Domicile pooray province kay liay applicable hota hay aur agar government job province kay quota pay mil rahi hay tau District change honay say koi farq nahi parta. Lekin agar aap ko govt. job soobay (province) kay andar hi Districts kay quota pay mil rahi ho tau CNIC pay parmanent address ka District change honay say koi problem create ho bhi sakti hay. Waysay umeed hay InshaAllah aap ko koi problem nahi hogi kiyonkeh aap nay kaha hay keh job kay Orders bhi jaari ho gaey hain.

      Iskay ilawa bhi aap apnay friends aur domicile say mutalliq logon say mazeed mashwarah kar lain tau ziada behtar rahega.

      For changing your permanent address, please visit NADRA Centre with following documents:-

      If your residence is on rent:-
      1) Your original CNIC
      2) Original Rent Agreement and photocopy
      3) Original Utility Bill in owner’s name, plus photocopy of Bill
      4) Photocopy of property owner’s CNIC
      5) NADRA can take an Affidavit having your and owner’s signatures

      If property is in any family member’s name:-
      1) Original CNIC of family member who is the property owner
      2) Original property documents (NADRA will take copy of only three pages)
      3) Original Utility Bill in the name of owner, plus photocopy of Bill
      4) After changing address on CNIC of one family member, others can change easily

      Please visit NADRA Centre with these documents and your problem will be solved very soon.

      You can change or correct your birthplace in your CNIC by visiting NADRA Centre with these documents:-

      1) Your original CNIC
      2) Your original Birth Certificate of Union Council & photocopy

  7. Mere Abu ka correct name Rahim Khan. Mere cnic par father name Rahim Khan hai. Mere sare educational documents par Rehim Khan hai. Tu nadra mere cnic par father name mere educational documents k mutabq kr dege?. Aur Kon Kon se documents sath required hunge?

      Aap kay father ka naam R(a)him Khan hay lekin aap kay Educational Documents pay inka naam R(e)him Khan hay. Yaani “a” aur “e” ka farq hay.

      Hona tau yeh chahiyay keh educational documents pay naam R(e)him Khan ki bajae R(a)him Khan karwaya jae, lekin tamaam educational documents pay naam theek karwana bohot mushkil kaam hay.

      Beherhaal, agar aap kay paas SIM wala Smart NIC (SNIC) hay tau iss par English main “Rahim Khan” likha hoga. Aap sirf apnay Matric Certificate ki photocopy NADRA main jama (submit) karwa kay father ka naam Rehim Khan karwa sakti hain. Tamaam educational certificates ki originals bhi NADRA Officer ko dikha dain.

      Baghair SIM walay “simple CNIC” pay sirf Urdu main data likha hota hay. Behtar hoga aap CNIC ko SNIC (Smart NIC) main convert karwa lain. Wohi Matric Certificate jama karwa dain, jiski bunyaad pay NADRA aap ka father-name “Rehim Khan” kar dega, InshaAllah.

      Agar NADRA waalay zaroori samjhain gay tau shaayad aap say koi Halaf-nama (Affidavit) lay saktay hain. Aap kay paas jo papers hain inki wajah say aap ka address Karachi ka ho jaega aur aap ko 30 din main fresh CNIC mil jaega, InshaAllah.

  10. If someone changed the address from one province to another then he wants to apply in that province but the Id of that province if log in appears like you are not permanent resident. So guide..

    1. Dear Mr.Hasnain,

      Someone changed his address from one province to another new province and then applied for a job at new province. After logging-in, there was a reply that you are not permanent resident (of this new province). May be they are not updated well, or may be this is a government job and they have their own requirements of Domicile or PRC (Permanent Residence Certificate).

      However, it is better to contact the employers personally or through email, telephone, etc. The employers are in a position to explain well this situation.
