The Learning Driving License is issued to new drivers. See the procedure and other details below.

Learning Driving License Procedure:
  • Learning License is issued for one year
  • But, after 42 days you can apply for a Permanent License
  • If your Learner’s License expires, it can be renewed
  • You cannot drive the car alone with Learner’s License
  • A permanent license-holder will sit with you in the car
  • Paste the letter “L” on front and back glasses of your vehicle

      Mumkin hay NADRA aap kay Sale Agreement aur Property Documents ko accept kar lay. Lekin agar koi problem ho tau please aap zaati taur pay NADRA ja kar unsay contact kijiay. NADRA kay paas deegar options bhi hotay hain aur woh zaroor aap ka permanent address change kar daingay, InshaAllah.

Ziada imkaan yehi hay keh choonkeh documents aap logon kay naam nahi huay hain isliay problem aa sakti hay. Koshish kijiay keh property aap logon kay naam register hojae. Jab property registration ka process hojae tau registration ki raseed (receipt) lay kar NADRA Centre ka visit karain. InshaAllah koi raasta nikal aega.

  6. I had a old / non digital driving license sine 90’s & I kept renewing it by stamping it from post office. Unfortunately I lost it & its copies as well so now I’ve no proof of DL. Should I apply for a regular one or DL authority would give me a learning DL .

      Please meet any senior staff of Post Office where you renewed your license last time. With the help of your CNIC number, he will see their record and search your license number.

      Otherwise, you can also contact the license branch, because finally the license fee reaches to them from post office. From their record, the license branch will search your license number. Then, they will renew your license and also they will issue the computerised license to you.

        1. You can submit a fresh application for Learner Driving License. But, if the license authorities allow you to only renew the license, then you will have to “renew” the license. You must not be worried about renewal. License Branch will charge you only Rs.700 (Rs.100 per year) i.e. from year 2015 to 2021.

    I got my learner license back in 2016 which expired in 2017, I went for renewal of that in December 2019, for which the driving license centre in nazimabad said that I could apply for permanent license and they took my theory test and medical fitness which I passed, then I had to submit fees for learner’s license (200) and 1060 (for permanent license) and then they took my practical test, which I failed! I had to wait for 42 days to reappear for the driving test, but due to pandemic and other personal reasons, I did not attempt! Now what I need to ask is do I need to apply for learner’s now since it’s March 2022, or am I eligible for the permanent driving license practical test and do I need to submit the fees again, keeping in mind they took my learner’s license back in 2019 while I attempted for permanent license, though I do have the cash receipt for 1260 rupees that I paid then, thanks. It would be of great help if you could help me out.

      There is no problem and it happens sometimes. Please apply again for “permanent” license. Most probably they will not ask further fees (Rs.1,060) and may allow to you for appearing again in their “practical test.” It is possible that license branch may charge from you the Learning License fees for two years of 2020 and 2021. Please visit the nearest License Branch with CNIC and expired license.

  22. Mera learner driving license aj Bana lekin during lamination wo damaged hogaya. Is there any way I can get a duplicate one?

      Aap ka license lamination ki wajah say damaged ho gaya hay lekin agar tamaam data (name, address waghera) “readable” hay aur data kharaab nahi hua hay tau license isi tarah chalnay dain. Yaa phir lamination walay kay paas lay ja kar nai lamination karwa lain.

      Warna phir license branch tashreef lay jaen aur unsay duplicate kay liay request karain. Woh 100/- rupees fees lay ker duplicate bana daingay.

      Perhaps your license will not be renewed from Post Office because a long time of 10 years is elapsed. It would be more better if you please visit your nearest Driving License Branch with your original CNIC and original expired license.       Aap token number save nahi kar sakay tau koi baat nahi. Aap naya token number lenay kay liay dobara License Branch kay link pay try karain. Jab aap apna data fill kar rahay hongay tau ho sakta hay darmiyan main notice aajae keh aap ko pehlay hi yeh token number diya ja chuka hay. Aur aap ko Token Number wapis mil jaega.       There is no problem. First of all, please go to the Driving License Branch and show them the photocopy of license. If you don’t have photocopy or the License Number, show them your original CNIC. From computer they will find your license detail. They will charge you 200 or 300 rupees and will issue the Learning License in your name.

  34. I have a UAE driving license which was issued in 2008 as I was Dubai resident. I recently returned back. On the basis of UAE license I can get Pakistani driving license or I have to go through all the procedures. do I have exemption on learning license or driving test etc.

      You already had Pakistani license in 2008, with a lifetime expiry. In the same year of 2008 you got UAE license. On the basis of both Pakistani and UAE licenses, strong chances are that License Branch will issue to you a fresh computerised license. It is possible that they take your some basic tests of driving.

      For this purpose, you are suggested to please contact Driving License Branch with following documents:-
      1) Your original CNIC with photocopy
      2) Your original Pakistani License (in Book Form) with photocopy
      3) Your original UAE License with photocopy

          Karachi main aap PSV (Public Service Vehicle) kay license kay liay apply kar saktay hain. Aap apnay original CNIC aur License kay saath kisi bhi License Branch tashreef lay jaen. Branch ka staff aapko mukammal guide karega aur InshaAllah aapka kaam aasaan hojaega.
