Documents Required:
  • Your original CNIC
Procedure:
  1. Your “Normal CNIC” can be renewed easily
  2. On renewal, “Normal CNIC” can be converted into “Smart CNIC”
  3. For Smart CNIC, go to NADRA with a CNIC-holder blood-relative
  4. Blood-relatives are father/mother/brother/sister/son/daughter
  5. NADRA staff will take fingerprints of you and your blood-relative
  6. For fingerprints, avoid mehendi, dust or oil on fingers
  7. When CNIC is ready, NADRA informs by SMS on your mobile
  8. Get your CNIC personally from NADRA Centre on date

    i have problem regarding my CNIC, my surname is missing from the CNIC and i also wanted to change my signature, however it been 2/3 years for holding this CNIC card and working with it, which caused misplaced surname on passport too how can i resolve that.

      You can apply both for adding your surname on your CNIC and the change of your signature. You may please also keep in mind that the addition of your surname in CNIC will make difference with the name on your educational certificates. However, after adding the surname on CNIC, you can have your name on passport together with surname.

    I have a little problem regarding my expired CNIC. I’ve been in China since past 7 years and last time I visited Pakistan was in 2017. my cnic card has expired for over a year due to which my application on NADRA’s online portal is not proceeding forward. please tell me my options to get my card renewed as i might be needing it soon for completing my UK immigration paperwork. can my mom or dad file an application on my behalf in Pakistan and get it done from nearby NADRA office or I have to be physically present

      Normally, those people who live abroad have the NICOP instead of CNIC. However, when CNIC is expired, and you are abroad, the card has to be renewed online within one year’s time. Although, on every renewal, the NADRA takes your fresh photograph and fingerprints, but in your situation your mom or dad can apply in the country on your behalf.

      Whenever needed, NADRA make amendments in their rules. Therefore, if you want to know the latest position of their online process about CNIC (or even NICOP), please contact NADRA’s helpline : 051-111-786-100. In case you find no reply upto your satisfaction, you can lodge your complaint on the link : https://complaints.nadra.gov.pk/ relating to NADRA. We think, for CNIC renewal, your physical presence will not be required in Pakistan at any stage.

      To renew your wife’s CNIC and convert her father name to husband name, please visit NADRA Centre with your wife. Also take with you the following documents:-

      1) Your original CNIC and photocopy
      2) Your wife’s original CNIC and photocopy
      3) Your original Urdu Nikah-nama
      4) NADRA’s original Marriage Certificate, if it is available

      You will get the renewed/fresh CNIC within 30 days. Fee is Rs.400/- for normal delivery of card.

      1) Aap ka original CNIC
      2) Husband ka original CNIC
      3) Urdu Nikah-nama aur photocopy
      4) NADRA ka jaari shuda Marriage Certificate

      Normal CNIC fee 400/- hay aur agar SIM wala Smart NIC (SNIC) banwana ho tau fee 750/- hay. Fees ki mazeed tafseel NADRA kay link https://www.nadra.gov.pk/fee-structure/ pay bhi dekhi ja sakti hay.

      W.Salam … You can add your name with the name of your wife on her CNIC. Please visit NADRA Centre with the following documents:-

      1) Your original CNIC
      2) Your wife’s original CNIC
      3) Nikah-nama in Urdu with photocopy
      4) NADRA’s Marriage Certificate (if you don’t have certificate, no problem)

      However, after adding your name, the name of your wife will be different from her educational record, passport, nikah-nama and many other documents. Although it makes no problem, but sometimes the “difference” of name between CNIC and other documents may create some difficulties. We think, you may decide more better in light of above mentioned points.

        2) Mr.Shahab’s original birth certificate & photocopy
        3) His Matriculation Certificate & photocopy

        However, after adding another name, the name of Mr.Shahab on his CNIC will be different from his academic record, passport and many other documents. Although it makes no problem, but sometimes the “difference” of name between CNIC and other documents may create some difficulties.         2) Original Rent Agreement aur photocopy

        Agar makaan aap ki family ka hay :-
        1) Jis family member kay naam pay makaan hay iss ka original CNIC

        3) Property maalik kay naam pay original Utility Bill aur photocopy
        4) Jab ek family member ka address change hojaega tau phir aap ka bhi aasani say change hojaega

      W.Salam … Aap 2nd November (Wednesday) ko laazman NADRA Centre tashreef lay jaen aur CNIC renewal/ modification ki request jama karwa dain. Woh aap ki picture, fingerprints aur data lay ker aap ko raseed (receipt/slip) jaari kar daingay. CNIC ki fees iss tarah hay:-

      Normal Fee…….PKR 400 (delivery of CNIC in 30 days)
      Urgent Fee…….PKR 1150 (delivery of CNIC in 15 days)
      Executive Fee….PKR 2150 (delivery of CNIC in 07 days)

      Aap “Executive Fee” yaani Rs.2,150 pay kar dain aur aap ko renewed CNIC seven (07) days main mil jaega. Agar ittefaq say late ho gaya aur 13th November tak CNIC nahi mila tau koi baat nahi. Aap NADRA ki raseed/slip apnay kisi blood-relative yaa qareebi relative ko day dain. Woh NADRA jaa kar aap ka CNIC wasool kar lega. NADRA ki iss raseed/slip ki photocopy aur puraney CNIC ki photocopy apnay saath rakhain. Jo relative aap ko airport pay see-off karnay aey iss kay paas ehtiatan original raseed/slip rakhwa dain.

      Awwal tau airport pay CNIC ki shaayad hi zaroorat paray, lekin ooper diay gaey iqdaamaat/ hints aap ko kaam aingay aur aap ko koi pareshani nahi hogi, InshaAllah.

      Pareshaan honay wali baat bilkul bhi nahi hay. Aap original CNIC lay ker Monday ko NADRA Centre tashreef lay jaen aur renewal kay liay apply kar dain. NADRA walay aap ko slip (receipt) daingay aur 30 days kay andar aap ko renewed-CNIC mil jaega.

      Iss doraan aap kay paas NADRA ki jo slip/ receipt hogi woh bilkul original CNIC ka kaam karegi aur aap original ki jagah yeh slip dikha sakti hain aur woh log isko accept bhi karaingay. Apnay saath mojooda CNIC ki photocopy bhi rakhain aur NADRA Slip ki photocopy bhi ghar pay zaroor rakhain.

      Jab ghar kay ek fard ka address change hojaega tau iskay CNIC ki bunyaad pay tamaam ghar waalon kay address aasaani say change hojaengay.

Lekin CNIC renew karwanay kay saath saath aap ko CNIC ko Smart-NIC (SNIC) may tabdeel karwana hay tau blood-relative ki zaroorat paregi. Wife blood-relatives may nahi aati hain. Blood-relatives may sirf aap kay father, mother, brother, sister aur aap kay children aatay hain.

      Aap apnay original CNIC kay saath NADRA Centre tashreef lay jaen. Agar aap maalik makaan hain yaa aap rent pay rehtay hain tau NADRA iskay mutabiq teen chaar papers maang sakta hay. Aap ko CNIC renew karwanay aur address single karwanay may koi problem nahi hogi, InshaAllah.

Agar “Blue Background” ki wajah say NADRA walay blood-relative ki zaroorat mehsoos kartay hain tau yaqeenan inka koi qanoon hota hoga. Aap ka sheher (city) agar Islamabad say qareeb hay tau kisi blood-relative ko kisi roz apnay sheher bula lain.

      Normally, if we want to renew our NORMAL-CNIC, the NADRA will not demand for any blood-relative. But, if we want renewal of our Normal CNIC and also we want to convert this “Normal” CNIC into “Smart” CNIC (which has SIM in it), NADRA will ask for a blood-relative. The NADRA will also take finger-prints of blood-relative.

      Further, sometimes NADRA Officer is not fully satisfied with our data. Or, there may be many reasons due to which NADRA demands a blood-relative to come. In fact, normally we do not need any relative for renewal of CNIC.

      W.Salam. Please search DHA-Karachi into Karachi Cantonment areas. DHA may not be falling into Karachi-South. Actually, ambiguity of areas falling into different Districts makes it difficult to search our area of residence.

      If your problem is not being resolved, please contact NADRA’s Help Line: 051-111-786-100. Even then, if there is no result, please lodge your complaint on NADRA’s link: https://complaints.nadra.gov.pk/.

      In case, you are presently in the country, please avoid this confusion and visit personally your nearest NADRA Centre with your original CNIC. You will get very easily renewed your CNIC with new address.

      Af far as we know, on nikkah ceremony, the Nikkah-khwan maulvi sahib will accept your CNIC’s expired copy to attach with nikkah-nama record. However, a second-opinion may please be taken from groom’s nikkah-khwan. After nikkah, you can get renewed your CNIC with husband’s name and his address.

      On the other hand, you can get renewed CNIC before nikkah by paying an urgent fee. Following is a detail of renewal fees:-
      Normal Fee: Rs.400 (receive card within 30 days)
      Urgent Fee: Rs.1150 (receive card within 15 days)
      Executive Fee: Rs.2150 (receive card within 7 days)

      In light of above detail, you can decide what you feel more comfortable.

      First of all, please get registered the FIR for the lost CNIC and Driving License.

      ( 1 ) Through following online service of NADRA, you can get duplicate or new CNIC:-

      However, it is also easy to get duplicate / new CNIC from NADRA Centre. Please visit any Centre with your CNIC number or photocopy of CNIC. Also show them original and photocopy of FIR. Then, you will get CNIC within 30 days.

      ( 2 ) At Driving License Branch, please submit FIR’s photocopy and show them original FIR. Also submit photocopy or number of your lost Driving License. You will get fresh license very soon.

      In Karachi, due to Corona Virus, the Driving License Branches are giving Token / Appointment on their following link:-

      Even before expiry date (Sept’22), you can apply for renewal or conversion from normal to Smart ID Card.

      In case your wife’s CNIC is already on her father’s name, it will easily be renewed and converted into Smart NIC. If presently CNIC is on husband’s name and you want her father’s name on CNIC, following documents will be required:-

      1) Your wife’s original CNIC
      2) Original CNIC of your wife’s father & photocopy
      2) Your original CNIC and photocopy
      3) Your wife’s original Birth Certificate & photocopy
      4) Your wife’s original B-Form & Matric.Certificate with photocopy
      5) Your original Nikah-nama and photocopy

Few days phly main mega center in Nazimabad gya thaa with my Valid Passport , Birth Certificate, Domicile , PRC & Orginal NIC of My Parents ( Dad & Mom dono ka) lekin phr b mjhy disappointed hee mili, or dono main say kio kaam nai hua !…
